BASICS ON SHAMA
Shama Sikander was born as Shama Gesawat to a Muslim family on 4th August 1981, in Makrana, Rajasthan, India. Sikander Ali Gesawat and Gulshan Sikander Ali Gesawat are her parents. She has one sister named Salma and two brothers, Rizwan and Khalid. Her nick name is Shams.
Shama knows six languages namely Hindi, English, Urdu, Gujarati, Marathi and Marwadi and loves swimming, dancing, gyming and kickboxing. She is also in the process of learning to play the violin.
CAREER
The actress came to Mumbai in 1991 to make her career in Bollywood. She has done minor roles in a number of movies like Prem Aggan (1998) starring Fardeen Khan, Govinda's Pardesi Babu (1998), Mann (1999), Basti (2003) among others. In Shashi Ranjan's Dhoom Dadakka (2008) she played a character named Jiya.
In Ansh: The Deadly Part (2002), she played one of the lead roles, her co-stars in this movie were Sharbani Mukherji, Abbas and Om Puri.
Shama came into the limelight only after her TV serial Ye Meri Life Hai, where she was seen as Pooja Mehta. She has done modeling for some of the most renowned designers namely Ritu Kumar, Shaina NA, Nisha Jamwal and Neeta Lulla.
She was paired with Vinod Kambli in one of the dance reality shows Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena on Colors channel. This show was judged by the beautiful actress Sushmita Sen.
